Introduction

The SONOFF Orb 4-in-1 Zigbee Smart Scene Button (SNZB-01M) is a versatile wireless controller designed to enhance your smart home experience. It features four distinct buttons, each supporting multiple actions (single-press, double-press, triple-press, and long-press), providing up to 16 different scene triggers for controlling lights, routines, and various home automation tasks.

Its innovative split magnetic design allows it to function as a fixed wall switch or a portable handheld remote. The device supports dual protocols (Zigbee and eWeLink-Remote) for broad compatibility with smart home ecosystems, including popular open-source platforms like Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT. With TouchLink and Home Assistant Bindings, it offers fast and stable local control, minimizing cloud delays for reliable performance. The wire-free design ensures easy installation anywhere using magnets, adhesive, or screws.

1. Installation

1.1 Déballage

Carefully unbox your SONOFF Orb 4-in-1 Zigbee Smart Scene Button. The package typically includes the button, a magnetic base, adhesive, and screws for installation.

1.2 Installation

The SNZB-01M offers flexible, wire-free installation options. It can be mounted using the included magnetic base, adhesive, or screws. The magnetic design allows the button to be detached from its base for use as a portable remote.

• Montage magnétique : Attach the magnetic base to a metallic surface or use the adhesive to fix it to a wall. The button can then be magnetically attached to the base.
• Montage adhésif : Use the provided adhesive pad to secure the magnetic base to any clean, flat surface.
• Montage à vis : For a more permanent installation, use the included screws to fix the magnetic base to a wall.

1.3 Couplage et connectivité

The SNZB-01M supports both Zigbee and eWeLink-Remote protocols. A switch on the device allows you to select the desired mode for pairing with your smart home gateway.

Pour appairer l'appareil :

1. Select the desired protocol (Zigbee or eWeLink-Remote) using the switch on the back of the device.
2. Put your compatible smart home gateway into pairing mode.
3. Press the pairing button on the SNZB-01M (often indicated by three dots) for a few seconds until the indicator light confirms pairing mode.
4. Confirm successful pairing through your gateway's application or interface.

The SNZB-01M is compatible with various platforms, including Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT, often requiring a SONOFF Zigbee gateway or similar open-source dongle for full functionality.

2. Utilisation de l'appareil

2.1 Contrôle de scène

The SONOFF Orb 4-in-1 button provides 16 possible scene triggers through its four quadrants. Each quadrant supports single-tap, double-tap, triple-tap, and long-press actions. These actions can be configured within your smart home platform to activate specific scenes or control individual devices.

Examples of scene control:

• Appuyez une fois sur : Turn on/off a specific light.
• Appuyez deux fois : Activate a "Movie Mode" scene (dim lights, close blinds).
• Appuyez trois fois : Trigger a "Good Night" routine (turn off all lights, lock doors).
• Appui long: Adjust brightness of a light or open/close curtains gradually.

2.2 TouchLink Functionality

The SNZB-01M supports TouchLink, simplifying the direct pairing and control of compatible smart bulbs without needing a central hub or gateway for basic functions. This allows for faster, more reliable responses.

To use TouchLink:

1. Ensure the smart bulb is powered on and in pairing mode (refer to the bulb's manual).
2. Hold the Orb 4-in-1 button close to the smart bulb (within 10 cm).
3. Press and hold one of the button quadrants on the Orb until the bulb responds (e.g., flashes or changes brightness), indicating successful pairing.

Note: TouchLink support varies by brand and model of the smart bulb. Refer to the specifications of your bulb for accurate information.

3. Entretien

3.1 Remplacement de la batterie

The SONOFF Orb 4-in-1 button is powered by a CR2477 Lithium Metal battery. When the battery level is low, the device's indicator may signal this, or you may notice reduced responsiveness. To replace the battery:

1. Gently twist or pry open the back cover of the button to access the battery compartment.
2. Retirez l'ancienne pile CR2477.
3. Insert a new CR2477 Lithium Metal battery, ensuring correct polarity.

4.2 Issues with Home Assistant (ZHA)

If you are using the SONOFF Orb 4-in-1 with Home Assistant via ZHA and experience issues with all 16 trigger combinations being recognized, it may require a specific ZHA script or "quirks file".

• ZHA Script Requirement: As of early 2026, using the Orb 4-in-1 with ZHA may require downloading and installing a specific ZHA script. Refer to the official SONOFF Help Center or community forums for detailed instructions and the necessary files.
• Event Recognition: Without the correct script, some button actions (e.g., button 2, 3, 4 actions beyond single press) might only register as generic "step" or "stop" events instead of distinct triggers.

4.3 eWeLink Mode Pairing Difficulties

Some users may encounter difficulties pairing the device in eWeLink mode. If the device briefly appears in the eWeLink app during pairing but then disappears, ensure:

• The device is correctly switched to eWeLink mode.
• The eWeLink gateway is in pairing mode and functioning correctly.
• You are pressing the correct pairing button (button 3, often marked with three dots) on the Orb.

If issues persist in eWeLink mode, consider trying Zigbee mode if your setup allows, as it has been reported to be more straightforward for some users.
