1. Introduction

The Ecolink Z-Wave Long Range Garage Door Controller (GDZW7-ECO) provides remote access and monitoring capabilities for your garage door. This UL-325 certified device operates on Z-Wave frequencies (908.42/916MHz, 912/920MHz for Long Range) and includes a pre-paired wireless tilt sensor for accurate door status detection. This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your device.

4. Configuration et installation

4.1. Installation du contrôleur

The main controller unit should be mounted near your garage door opener motor. Ensure it is within range of your Z-Wave hub.

2. Wiring to Garage Door Opener: Connect the pre-installed bellwire from the controller to the 2nd external contact on your garage door opener. Refer to your garage door opener's manual for specific wiring instructions.

4.2. Tilt Sensor Installation

The wireless tilt sensor detects the position of your garage door. It comes pre-paired with the main controller unit.

5. Mode d'emploi

5.1. Intégration au réseau Z-Wave

To integrate the Ecolink Garage Door Controller into your Z-Wave network:

1. Mettez votre hub Z-Wave en mode d'inclusion/de couplage (reportez-vous au manuel de votre hub).
2. Follow the specific instructions for your Z-Wave hub to add a new device. The controller should be discovered automatically.
3. Once included, the controller and its pre-paired tilt sensor will appear in your Z-Wave application.

5.2. Garage Door Control

After successful inclusion, you can control your garage door and monitor its status via your Z-Wave hub's interface or associated smartphone application.

• Bip sonore : The tilt sensor emits a beep sound when the garage door changes status (from vertical to horizontal or vice versa). This feature can be disabled via internal switches on the sensor's circuit board if preferred.

5.3. SmartThings and Homey Pro Compatibility

For optimal performance with SmartThings, ensure you have the correct Edge drivers installed. These drivers unlock all features and functionalities. For Homey Pro, download the Third Reality app from Homey's official App Store before installation to ensure proper sensor functionality. Without the correct app, sensors may pair as generic Zigbee devices and not function correctly.

6. Entretien

6.1. Battery Replacement (Tilt Sensor)

The wireless tilt sensor is powered by AAA batteries. Battery life is rated for up to two years. Replace batteries when indicated by your Z-Wave hub's application or if the sensor stops reporting status updates reliably.

6.2. Nettoyage

Wipe the device and sensor with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.

7. Dépannage

• L'appareil ne se couple pas : Ensure your Z-Wave hub is in inclusion mode and the device is powered on. Try moving the device closer to the hub during the pairing process.
• Incorrect Door Status: Verify the tilt sensor is mounted correctly with the 'UP' arrow pointing upwards and speaker holes at the top. Check the tilt sensor's battery level.
• No Audible Beep from Tilt Sensor: Check the internal switch settings on the tilt sensor's circuit board to ensure the siren is enabled.
• SmartThings/Homey Pro Issues: Ensure the correct Edge drivers (for SmartThings) or the Third Reality app (for Homey Pro) are installed. Contact Third Reality support for firmware updates if issues persist.
