  • Track Race Mode: Accommodates up to 10 lap/split lane buttons. A Linkgate is provided to connect lane buttons to a separate unit, simplifying wiring. Features 8,000 dual split memory for single or multiple events, storage for later review or printing, a four-digit place counter, pre-entry of bib and lane numbers, post-event bib number editing, a two-digit lap counter, and a test mode for lane setup verification.
  • Built-In Printer: Prints 20 digits, with one lap/split record per line, at a speed of 1 line per second. Provides automatic printout of date, run number, and record type (track, road, or multiple). Includes a pause printing function for paper changes and is powered by a rechargeable internal battery (USB rechargeable).

3. Installation

3.1 Mise sous tension et charge

Before initial use, ensure the internal battery is fully charged. Connect the Ultrak L20 timer to a standard USB power source using the provided USB cable. The charging indicator will confirm the charging status. A full charge ensures optimal performance during events.

3.2 Connecting Lane Buttons (Track Race Mode)

For track race applications, connect the individual lane buttons to the Linkgate unit. The Linkgate acts as a central hub, consolidating inputs from multiple lane buttons into a single connection to the main timer unit. This design minimizes tangled wires and simplifies setup on the track.

3.3 Paper Installation for Built-In Printer

To use the built-in printer, gently open the printer cover. Insert a new roll of compatible thermal paper, ensuring the paper feeds smoothly through the mechanism and protrudes slightly from the printer slot. Close the cover securely.

4. Mode d'emploi

4.1 Road Race (Cross Country) Mode

This mode is optimized for events with a large number of participants, such as cross country races, 10Ks, or marathons.

  1. Appuyez sur le MODE button to navigate and select "Road Race" mode.
  2. If prompted, enter the total number of participants or other event parameters.
  3. Appuyez sur le START/RATE button to begin timing the event.
  4. As participants cross the finish line, enter their unique four-digit bib numbers using the numeric keypad and press ENTRER. The timer will automatically record their finish time.
  5. Results can be printed automatically during the event or stored in memory for later review et l'impression.

4.2 Track Race Mode

This mode is specifically designed for multi-lane track events, allowing for precise lap and split timing.

  1. Appuyez sur le MODE button to navigate and select "Track Race" mode.
  2. Optionally, pre-assign bib numbers to specific lanes before the event begins.
  3. Utilisez le TEST mode to verify that all connected lane buttons are functioning correctly.
  4. Appuyez sur le START/RATE button to initiate the race timer.
  5. As each runner completes a lap or crosses a designated split point, press the corresponding lane button. The timer will record the lap/split time for that lane.
  6. The Linkgate system ensures that inputs from multiple lane buttons are efficiently transmitted to the timer via a single cable.

5.1 Data Upload to PC

The Ultrak L20 features a Windows-compatible interface for transferring recorded data to a personal computer. Connect the timer to your PC using a USB cable. Follow the instructions provided with the Ultrak software (if applicable) or your chosen third-party timing software to initiate data transfer.
