1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your A-iPower GXS5000D Dual Fuel Portable Generator. This generator is designed to provide reliable power for various applications, including job sites, RVs, home backup, and emergencies. It features a 223cc OHV engine and dual fuel capability, allowing operation on both gasoline and propane.

2. Consignes de sécurité

• Risque de monoxyde de carbone : Generators produce carbon monoxide (CO), an odorless, colorless, and poisonous gas. Operate the generator ONLY outdoors and far away from windows, doors, and vents. Never use inside a home, garage, or any enclosed or semi-enclosed area. The GXS5000D includes a CO Sensor Shutdown feature for added safety.
• Risque d'incendie : Fuel is highly flammable. Store fuel in approved containers in a well-ventilated area. Do not refuel while the engine is running or hot.

3. Déballage et montage

Your generator comes with essential components for initial setup. Carefully unpack all items and ensure nothing is missing.

• Remove the generator and all accessories from the packaging.
• Attach the wheels and support feet as per the Quick Start Guide.
• Add the provided engine oil to the crankcase. Do not overfill.
• Connect the battery terminals (if applicable for electric start models).

• CO Sensor Indicator Light: Alerts to dangerous carbon monoxide levels.

5. Fueling the Generator

The GXS5000D operates on both gasoline and propane. Always ensure the generator is off and cooled before fueling.

5.1. Gasoline Operation

• Utilisez de l'essence sans plomb fraîche avec un indice d'octane de 87 ou plus.
• Open the fuel cap and slowly pour gasoline into the fuel tank (6.3-gallon capacity).
• Do not overfill. Leave space for fuel expansion.
• Refermez bien le bouchon du réservoir de carburant.

5.2. Propane (LPG) Operation

• Connect the provided LPG hose regulator to a standard 20 lbs. propane tank.
• Connect the other end of the hose to the generator's propane inlet.
• Assurez-vous que toutes les connexions sont bien serrées pour éviter les fuites.
• Ouvrez lentement la vanne du réservoir de propane.

6. Démarrage du générateur

Follow these steps to start your generator based on the chosen fuel type.

6.1. Starting on Gasoline

1. Assurez-vous que le générateur est placé sur une surface plane et que toutes les charges électriques sont déconnectées.
2. Turn the fuel selector switch to the 'Gasoline' position.
3. Déplacez le levier de starter en position « Starter » (si le moteur est froid).
4. Turn the engine switch to 'ON'.
5. Tirez fermement et régulièrement sur la poignée de démarrage à rappel jusqu'à ce que le moteur démarre.
6. Une fois le moteur démarré, déplacez lentement le levier de starter en position « Marche ».

6.2. Starting on Propane (LPG)

1. Assurez-vous que le générateur est placé sur une surface plane et que toutes les charges électriques sont déconnectées.
2. Ensure the propane tank is connected and the valve is open.
3. Turn the fuel selector switch to the 'Propane' position.
4. Déplacez le levier de starter en position « Starter » (si le moteur est froid).
5. Turn the engine switch to 'ON'.
6. Tirez fermement et régulièrement sur la poignée de démarrage à rappel jusqu'à ce que le moteur démarre.

7. Fonctionnement du générateur

• Connexion d'appareils : Plug your devices into the appropriate AC outlets. Do not overload the generator.
• Mode écologique: The generator may feature an Eco mode switch. Engaging this mode can reduce engine speed, lowering fuel consumption and noise levels when the load is light.
• Surveillance: Regularly check the data center display for voltage, frequency, and runtime. Pay attention to the CO sensor indicator light.

8. Entretien

Un entretien régulier garantit la longévité et les performances optimales de votre générateur.

• Changements d'huile : Vérifiez le niveau d'huile moteur avant chaque utilisation. Changez l'huile après les 20 premières heures de fonctionnement, puis toutes les 100 heures ou une fois par an.
• Filtre à air : Inspectez et nettoyez régulièrement le filtre à air. Remplacez-le s'il est endommagé.
• Bougie d'allumage: Inspect and clean the spark plug annually or every 100 hours. Replace if necessary.
• Système d'alimentation en carburant : If storing for an extended period, drain the gasoline from the tank and carburetor to prevent fuel degradation. For propane, simply close the tank valve.

• CO Sensor Shutdown: If the CO sensor light is on and the generator shuts down, move the generator to a well-ventilated area and allow it to cool before restarting.
