4. Installation
The installation process varies slightly depending on your CPU socket type (AMD or Intel). Please follow the instructions carefully for your specific platform.

For AMD AM4/AM5 sockets, the existing motherboard backplate is utilized. Remove the plastic retention brackets around the CPU socket, but keep the metal backplate attached to the motherboard.
- Install the four plastic standoffs onto the motherboard's CPU socket holes.
- Place the two metal AM4/AM5 brackets onto the plastic standoffs, ensuring correct orientation.
- Secure the metal brackets with the four provided AM4/AM5 screws. Tighten them evenly in a cross pattern until snug.
- Apply a small amount of thermal paste to the center of your CPU's IHS.
- Remove the protective film from the heatsink base.
- Carefully place the heatsink onto the CPU, aligning the mounting nuts with the screws on the brackets.
- Using the provided screwdriver, tighten the mounting nuts evenly in a cross pattern until the heatsink is securely mounted.
- Attach the Light Wings 120mm fan to the heatsink using the included fan clips. Ensure the fan is oriented to push air through the heatsink towards the rear of the case.

4.3. Intel LGA 1700 / 1200 / 115x Installation
For Intel sockets, you will use the provided Intel backplate and mounting hardware.
- Adjust the mounting hole position on the Intel backplate to match your CPU socket (e.g., LGA 1700).
- Place the Intel backplate on the backside of your motherboard, aligning the holes with the CPU socket.
- Install the four plastic standoffs onto the motherboard's CPU socket holes, screwing them into the backplate.
- Place the two metal Intel brackets onto the plastic standoffs, ensuring correct orientation.
- Secure the metal brackets with the four provided Intel screws. Tighten them evenly in a cross pattern until snug.
- Apply a small amount of thermal paste to the center of your CPU's IHS.

Fan speed can be controlled via your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings or through compatible software provided by your motherboard manufacturer.
