4. Setup: Blade Installation/Replacement

The Otacle utility knife uses specific replacement blades. Ensure you have the correct blade type before proceeding.

1. Locate the slotted screw on the back of the knife. Use a suitable screwdriver to remove this screw.
2. Carefully remove the slide button mechanism.
3. Remove the old blade. Dispose of used blades safely.
4. Insert a new blade (not included) into the designated slot. Ensure it is seated correctly.
5. Align the slide button with the hole on the new blade and re-insert it into the knife body.
6. Tighten the slotted screw to secure the blade and mechanism. Test the retraction and extension to ensure proper function.

5.1 Retractable Blade

• To extend the blade: Push the slide button forward until the blade locks into the desired position. The blade can be safely locked in three positions.
• To retract the blade: Push the slide button backward until the blade is fully enclosed within the handle. Always retract the blade when not actively cutting.
