3. Compatibilité et ajustement

This cross bar system is designed for universal fitment on most vehicles equipped with separated/raised side rails or integrated side rails that have deep grooves. The system accommodates side rails with a width between 0.98 inches (25mm) and 2.16 inches (55mm).

Avis important :

4. Instructions d'installation

The cross bars are approximately 90% pre-assembled for ease of installation. Follow these steps carefully:

4.1 Mise en place et ajustement initiaux

  1. Place the cross bar onto your vehicle's side rails.
  2. Use the provided key to unlock and remove the plastic cover on the mounting bracket.
  3. Adjust the hook on the mounting bracket to securely catch the groove of the side rail. Ensure the hook is properly engaged on both sides before proceeding.
  4. Using the T-shaped Allen wrench, tighten the screw to fix the hook firmly in place.
  5. Replace the plastic cover and lock it with the key.

Note de sécurité :

  • Do not exceed the width of the vehicle with the installed cross bars.
  • The suitable length range for the 47-inch universal crossbar is 33.9 inches (86cm) to 48.8 inches (124cm).

4.2 Rubber Strip Installation

  1. Measure the length of the exposed groove on the underside of the cross bar.
  2. Cut the spare rubber strip to the measured length.
  3. Insert the cut rubber strip into the exposed groove at the bottom of the cross bar. This helps reduce wind noise.

4.3 Positionnement final

Ensure the distance between the two cross bars is longer than 700mm (approximately 27.5 inches) for optimal stability and load distribution.

The BougeRV cross bars are designed to safely transport various items on your vehicle's roof.

5.1 Capacité de charge

5.2 Anti-Theft Feature

The roof rack includes an anti-theft locking mechanism. Secure the end caps with the provided keys to protect your mounting attachment from theft, rain, or dust. It is recommended to register your key number (found on the key cylinder, e.g., "A01") in case of key loss.

  • Always check that each attachment is securely fastened before loading any gear and before each trip.
  • Distribute the load evenly across the cross bars.
  • Adhere to the maximum load capacity of 150 lbs (68 kg).
  • Drive cautiously, especially with heavy or bulky loads, as vehicle handling may be affected.
  • Regularly inspect the cross bars and mounting points for any signs of wear or damage.

6. Entretien

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your roof rack.

7. Dépannage

7.1 Brackets Become Disconnected

If the internal nut within the mounting bracket becomes loose, it needs to be reassembled. This can happen if the bracket is removed from the cross bar.

  1. Carefully pry open the cover of the mounting bracket using a flat-blade screwdriver.
  2. Take out the mounting bracket from the cross bar.
  3. Identify the loose nut inside the bracket.
  4. Assemble the bolt, spacer, and hook components (parts 3, 4, 5 as shown in the video).
  5. Screw the bolt through the bracket into the nut, ensuring they align properly.
  6. Slide the reassembled mounting bracket back into the cross bar.
  7. Tighten the bolt with the Allen wrench.

7.2 Wind Noise
