3. Installation
Follow these steps to set up your Dynascan P-72 for initial operation.
3.1 Connexion du microphone
Connect the coiled cable of the handheld speaker microphone to the dedicated jack on the side of the transceiver unit. Ensure the connector is fully inserted to establish a secure connection.
3.2 Connexion d'alimentation
Connect the supplied DC power cable to the power input on the rear of the transceiver. Connect the other end of the power cable to a stable 13.8 VDC power source capable of supplying sufficient current (e.g., a regulated power supply or vehicle battery). Observe correct polarity (red for positive, black for negative).

Connect a suitable 50 Ohm dual-band antenna (VHF/UHF) to the antenna connector on the rear of the transceiver. Ensure the connection is tight and secure. Never transmit without an antenna connected, as this can damage the transceiver.

4. Mode d'emploi
This section details the basic operation of your Dynascan P-72.
4.1 Mise sous/hors tension
Pour allumer l'appareil, appuyez sur le bouton et maintenez-le enfoncé. POUVOIR button (usually located on the front panel or microphone). To power off, press and hold the same button again.
4.2 Réglage du volume et du squelch
- Volume: Faites pivoter le VOL knob (or use volume controls on the microphone) to adjust the audio output level.
- Écraser: Faites pivoter le SQL knob to set the squelch level. Adjust it until background noise disappears, but weak signals can still be heard.

In VFO (Variable Frequency Oscillator) mode, you can directly input or tune to desired frequencies.

- Use the main tuning knob on the transceiver or the up/down arrows on the microphone to adjust the frequency.
- Alternatively, use the DTMF keypad on the microphone to directly enter the desired frequency.
4.4 Channel Operation (Memory Mode)
The P-72 supports 255 memory channels for storing frequently used frequencies and settings.
- Appuyez sur le VFO/RM button to switch to Memory mode.
- Use the tuning knob or up/down arrows to scroll through stored memory channels.

4.5 Transmission (PTT)
Pour transmettre, appuyez et maintenez la touche enfoncée. PTT (appuyer pour parler) button on the side of the handheld microphone. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to return to receive mode.
4.6 Dual Frequency Reception and Full Duplex
The Dynascan P-72 can receive two frequencies simultaneously (VHF and UHF). It also supports full duplex operation, allowing you to transmit on one band while receiving on another.
- The display will show both active frequencies.

5. Entretien
