The Extech UV505 features a UV sensor at the top, a large LCD display in the center, and several control buttons below the display. The main power button is typically orange and centrally located. Other buttons include ZERO, UNIT, and a backlight button (often indicated by a light bulb icon) and a HOLD button (indicated by 'H'). The battery compartment is located on the rear of the device.
5. Installation
5.1 Installation de la batterie

- Press the release button (if present) and slide open the battery cover.

- Replace the battery cover and ensure it clicks securely into place.
6. Mode d'emploi
6.1 Mise sous/hors tension
- To power on the meter, press the orange power button.
- To power off the meter, press and hold the orange power button until the display turns off. The meter also features an auto power-off function after a period of inactivity.
6.2 Prendre une mesure

- Point the UV sensor directly towards the UV light source you wish to measure.
- Read the UV intensity value displayed on the LCD screen.
6.3 Fonction zéro
- To ensure accurate readings, especially in low UV environments, use the ZERO function.
- Cover the UV sensor completely to block all light.
- Press the 'ZERO' button. The display should show '0' or a very small value.

- Press the 'UNIT' button to cycle through available measurement units, typically µW/cm² (microwatts per square centimeter) and mW/cm² (milliwatts per square centimeter).

- Press the backlight button (light bulb icon) to illuminate the LCD display for better visibility in low-light conditions.
- Press it again to turn off the backlight.
7. Entretien
7.1 Nettoyage

- Keep the UV sensor clean and free from dust or debris to ensure accurate readings. Use a soft brush or compressed air if necessary.
7.2 Stockage

- Store the meter in its protective pouch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
