2. Installation

Follow these steps to set up your Dino-Lite AM2111 Digital Microscope:

  1. Installation du logiciel : Download and install the DinoCapture (for Windows) or DinoXcope (for Mac) software from the official Dino-Lite website. This software is essential for viewing live images, capturing photos, and recording videos.
  2. Connectez le microscope : Plug the USB 2.0 connector of the Dino-Lite AM2111 into an available USB port on your Mac or Windows PC.
  3. Using the Blucoil USB Hub (Optional): If your computer has limited USB ports or you need to extend connectivity, connect the Blucoil USB Type-A Mini Hub to a USB port on your computer. Then, plug the microscope into one of the hub's four USB 3.0 ports. The hub also features a micro-USB port for power-demanding devices (power adapter not included).
  4. Using the Blucoil USB Extension Cable (Optional): For extended reach, connect the Dino-Lite microscope's USB cable to the female end of the Blucoil 3-FT USB 2.0 Type-A Extension Cable, and then plug the male end of the extension cable into your computer or the Blucoil USB Hub.

3. Mode d'emploi

The Dino-Lite AM2111 is designed for ease of use, whether handheld or mounted on a stand.

3.1. Réglage du grossissement

The AM2111 offers an adjustable optical magnification range from 20x-50x, and can achieve up to 200x magnification without needing to change lenses. Magnification is primarily controlled by the distance between the microscope's lens and the specimen, and fine-tuned with the focus dial.

  • Lower Magnification (Long Working Distance): When the microscope is further away from the specimen, it provides a lower magnification, a larger field of view, and a higher depth of field. This is ideal for observing larger areas or objects.
  • Higher Magnification (Short Working Distance): As you move the microscope closer to the specimen, the magnification increases, resulting in a smaller field of view and lower depth of field. This allows for detailed examination of microscopic features.

3.2. Capture d'images et de vidéos

The DinoCapture/DinoXcope software provides intuitive controls for capturing data:

  • Images fixes : Click the camera icon within the software to capture a snapshot of the live view. Images can be saved in formats such as BMP, GIF, PNG, JPG, TIF, RAS, PNM, TGA, PCX, MNG, WBMP, JP2, JPC, PGX (Windows) or JPEG, PNG (Mac).
  • Enregistrement vidéo : Use the video recorder function to capture live video footage. Videos can be saved in WMV, FLV, SWF formats (Windows).
  • Time-Lapsed Video: The software also supports time-lapsed video recording for observing changes over time.

3.3. Viewdiapositives

The AM2111 can be used to view microscopic slides. Place the slide directly under the microscope's lens and adjust the distance and focus for clear observation. The software allows for advanced image processing and annotation.

  • Nettoyer le corps : Wipe the microscope body with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Stockage: Store the microscope in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Protect the lens from dust and scratches when not in use.
