3.2. Connecting via WPS (Recommended)
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) is the easiest way to connect your extender to your router.
- Tout d'abord, appuyez sur le Bouton WPS on your NETGEAR N600 WiFi Range Extender.
- Dans les deux minutes, appuyez sur la Bouton WPS on your WiFi router.
- The WPS LED on the extender will light up solid green when a good connection is established between your WiFi router and your extender.
- If your WiFi router supports the 5GHz band and you wish to extend this band, repeat the WPS process for the 5GHz band.
If your router does not support WPS, or if you encounter issues, refer to the "Setup Later" option in the video or the full manual for browser-based setup instructions.
3.3. Optimal Placement of the Extender
After initial setup, unplug the extender and move it to a new location that is about halfway between your router and the area with a poor WiFi signal. The chosen location must be within range of your existing WiFi router network.
- Plug the extender into an electrical outlet in the desired location.
- Attendez que le voyant d'alimentation s'allume en vert.
- Utilisez le Voyant de liaison du routeur on the extender to help you choose a location where the extender-to-router connection is optimal.
- If the Router Link LED lights amber or green, you have found a good location for the extender.
- If the LED lights rouge, plug the extender into an outlet closer to the router and try again. Moving the extender closer to the router will improve the connection but may reduce your extender's coverage.
3.4. Connexions sans fil
Once you've found a good location for your extender, connect your client device (e.g., laptop, smartphone) using the new network name. The extender uses your existing WiFi name and adds "_2GEXT" or "_5GEXT" at the end (e.g., MyNetworkName_2GEXT or MyNetworkName_5GEXT).
- When connecting, ensure you use the same WiFi password as your router.
- If you are using a mobile device, connect in the same room as the extender first, and then move to the area with a poor router WiFi signal.
- Once your devices are connected and placed in the dead zone, return to the extender and check the Voyant de liaison client.
- If the Client Link LED is solid amber or green, your WiFi network has been properly extended to the area with a poor router WiFi signal, and your network setup is complete.
- If the Client Link LED is rouge, the range extender is not reaching the area with a poor router WiFi signal. If possible, move your client device closer to the extender until the Client Link LED turns solid green or amber.
Depending on the distance from your router to the dead zone, your extender may not be able to provide all the range that you require. In this situation, consider other solutions such as Powerline adapters.

- Ensure you are using the correct WiFi password (same as your main router).
- If the Client Link LED is red, move your client device closer to the extender.
- Connexion intermittente : This can sometimes be resolved by power cycling both your main router and the range extender. Ensure there are no physical obstructions or interference sources (like microwaves or cordless phones) near the extender.
- Retour aux paramètres d'usine: If all else fails, you may need to perform a factory reset.
