1. Introduction
The SENSOR SWITCH MP20 Power Pack is a robust and reliable device designed to provide power and control for occupancy sensor systems. This power pack operates at 120/277VAC and can handle up to 20 amps, making it suitable for various commercial and industrial lighting control applications. It is engineered to be compatible with occupancy sensors, including those from different brands, offering flexibility in system integration. The MP20 is UL 2043 Plenum Rated, ensuring its suitability for use in air-handling spaces.
2. Consignes de sécurité
WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Installation should only be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all national and local electrical codes.
- Coupez toujours l'alimentation au niveau du disjoncteur ou du tableau électrique avant d'installer ou d'entretenir l'appareil.
- Ensure all exposed wire leads are properly capped and taped off to prevent accidental contact.
- Cet appareil est conçu pour UTILISATION INTÉRIEURE UNIQUEMENTNe pas exposer à l'humidité ni à des températures extrêmes.
- Vérifiez le vol correcttage (120VAC or 277VAC) before connecting the power pack.
- Ne pas dépasser le courant nominal maximal de 20 amps.
3. Configuration et installation
The MP20 Power Pack is designed for easy integration into existing or new lighting control systems. Follow these steps for proper installation:
- Coupure de courant : Before beginning any wiring, ensure that power to the circuit is completely disconnected at the main breaker.
- Montage: Mount the MP20 Power Pack securely in a suitable junction box or electrical enclosure. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Connexions de câblage : Refer to the wiring diagram below and the label on the device for precise connections. All connections must be made using appropriate wire nuts or connectors and insulated properly.
- BLACK Wire: Connect to 120 VAC Line.
- ORANGE Wire: Connect to 277 VAC Line (if using 277V system). If using 120V, cap and insulate this wire.
- WHITE Wire: Connectez-vous au neutre.
- BLUE Wires (2): These are Relay Contacts. Connect to the load (e.g., lighting fixtures).
- RED Wire (Class 2): Connect to 15 VDC output from the occupancy sensor.
- WHITE Wire (Class 2): Connect to Sensor input from the occupancy sensor.
- BLACK Wire (Class 2): Connect to Common from the occupancy sensor.
- Connexions sécurisées : Double-check all wiring connections for tightness and proper insulation.
- Restaurer l'alimentation : Once all connections are secure and the device is properly mounted, restore power to the circuit.

Figure 1: SENSOR SWITCH MP20 Power Pack. This image displays the compact black rectangular device with various colored wires extending from its sides, including black, white, blue, orange, and red wires. The product label is clearly visible, detailing the model number, voltage, amperage, and specific wiring instructions for both line voltage and Class 2 low voltage connexions.
4. Fonctionnement
The MP20 Power Pack operates in conjunction with an external occupancy sensor. Once properly wired and powered, the power pack will respond to signals from the connected sensor. When the occupancy sensor detects presence, it will signal the MP20 to close its internal relay contacts, thereby supplying power to the connected load (e.g., lights). When the sensor no longer detects presence and its programmed delay expires, it will signal the MP20 to open its relay contacts, turning off the load.
The power pack provides the necessary low-voltage power (15 VDC) to the connected occupancy sensor, eliminating the need for a separate power supply for the sensor.
5. Entretien
The SENSOR SWITCH MP20 Power Pack is designed for maintenance-free operation. However, periodic inspection is recommended to ensure optimal performance:
- Inspection visuelle : Periodically check the device and its wiring for any signs of damage, wear, or loose connections.
- Poussière et débris : Ensure the area around the power pack is free from excessive dust or debris, which could impede heat dissipation.
- Vérification professionnelle : For any concerns regarding performance or safety, consult a qualified electrician.
6. Dépannage
If the MP20 Power Pack is not functioning as expected, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- Aucune alimentation pour charger :
- Verify that the main power supply to the power pack is active at 120VAC or 277VAC.
- Check all wiring connections for tightness and correctness, especially the Black (120V), Orange (277V), White (Neutral), and Blue (Relay Contacts) wires.
- Ensure the connected occupancy sensor is receiving 15 VDC from the power pack (Red wire) and is functioning correctly.
- Confirm that the sensor's output (White and Black Class 2 wires) is properly connected to the power pack.
- Load Stays On/Off:
- This typically indicates an issue with the connected occupancy sensor or its settings. Refer to the sensor's instruction manual.
- Check the Class 2 wiring between the power pack and the sensor (Red, White, Black wires).
- Protection contre les surcharges : If the power pack repeatedly trips or fails, ensure the connected load does not exceed the 20 amp note maximale.
Si les problèmes persistent après avoir effectué ces vérifications, contactez le service client ou un électricien qualifié.
