This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your KaWe COMBILIGHT C10 Otoscope and EUROLIGHT E10 Ophthalmoscope Basic Kit. Please read this manual thoroughly before initial use and retain it for future reference. This kit is designed for professional medical diagnostic examinations of the ear and eye.

2. Composants du produit

The KaWe COMBILIGHT C10/EUROLIGHT E10 Basic Kit includes the following components:

  • EUROLIGHT E10 Ophthalmoscope Head: Features a correction lens wheel with stages +/- 20 diopters and 6 diaphragms for a large examination field of the fundus of the eyes.
  • COMBILIGHT C10 Otoscope Head: Equipped with standard illumination (2.5V vacuum bulb), 3-times magnification, and a rotating lens.
  • Interchangeable Handle: Designed for use with both ophthalmoscope and otoscope heads. Requires 2 C batteries (not included).
  • Reusable Ear Specula: Three sizes included (2.5mm, 3.5mm, and 4.0mm).
  • Chromium-plated Nose Speculum: For nasal examinations.
  • Spare 2.5V Bulb: For the otoscope head.
  • Laryngeal Mirrors: Two sizes included (sizes 3 and 4).

3. Installation

3.1 Installation de la batterie

  1. Unscrew the bottom cap of the interchangeable handle.
  2. Insert two C-sized batteries (not included) into the handle, ensuring correct polarity (positive end first).
  3. Securely screw the bottom cap back onto the handle.

3.2 Attaching Head Attachments

  1. Align the sides of the desired head attachment (ophthalmoscope or otoscope) with the handle.
  2. Press the head attachment down onto the handle.
  3. Turn the head attachment 90 degrees clockwise until it locks securely into place.

3.3 Detaching Head Attachments

  1. Tenez fermement la poignée.
  2. Press the head attachment down towards the handle.
  3. Turn the head attachment 90 degrees counter-clockwise to release it.

4. Mode d'emploi

4.1 Mise sous/hors tension

Gently twist the switch at the neck of the attached head 90 degrees clockwise to turn the device ON. To turn OFF, twist 90 degrees counter-clockwise.

4.2 Using the COMBILIGHT C10 Otoscope

  1. Attach the COMBILIGHT C10 Otoscope head to the handle.
  2. Select an appropriate size reusable ear speculum (2.5mm, 3.5mm, or 4.0mm) and attach it to the otoscope head.
  3. Turn on the otoscope.
  4. Gently insert the speculum into the ear canal to examine the tympanic membrane and outer ear canal. The 3-times magnification and rotating lens aid in detailed viewing.

4.3 Using the EUROLIGHT E10 Ophthalmoscope

  1. Attach the EUROLIGHT E10 Ophthalmoscope head to the handle.
  2. Turn on the ophthalmoscope.
  3. Adjust the correction lens wheel (+/- 20 diopters) and select one of the 6 diaphragms to achieve the desired focus and field of view for fundus examination.
  4. Position the ophthalmoscope appropriately to examine the patient's eye.

5. Entretien

5.1 Nettoyage

  • Always clean the specula and laryngeal mirrors thoroughly after each use with an appropriate disinfectant.
  • Wipe the instrument heads and handle with a soft cloth dampened with a mild disinfectant. Do not immerse the electronic components in liquid.

5.2 Remplacement d'ampoule

The otoscope head uses a 2.5V vacuum bulb. A spare bulb is included in your kit.

  1. Ensure the device is turned off and detached from the handle.
  2. Carefully pull the old bulb straight out from its socket.
  3. Insert the new spare bulb by aligning its pins with the socket and gently pushing it into place.

6. Dépannage

  • Pas de lumière : Check if batteries are correctly inserted and charged. Replace batteries if necessary. Ensure the head attachment is securely fastened and turned ON.
  • Pénombre: Replace batteries. The bulb may also be nearing the end of its lifespan; replace if needed.
  • Difficulty Attaching/Detaching Head: Ensure you are pressing down firmly before twisting. Do not force the attachment; it should turn smoothly.
