1. Produit terminéview
The TP-Link TL-SF1008P is an 8-Port 10/100Mbps Desktop Switch with 4 PoE+ Ports, designed to provide a seamless network connection. It integrates 100Mbps Fast Ethernet and 10Mbps Ethernet network capabilities. Four of the eight Auto-Negotiation RJ45 ports (Port 1 to Port 4) support Power over Ethernet (PoE+) functionality. These PoE+ ports can automatically detect and supply power to IEEE 802.3at/af compliant Powered Devices (PDs).
This switch allows for the transmission of electrical power along with data over a single cable, enabling network expansion in locations without readily available power lines or outlets. It is suitable for powering devices such as Access Points (APs), IP Cameras, or IP Phones.

4. Modes de fonctionnement et fonctionnalités
The TL-SF1008P offers several features to optimize network performance and reliability.
4.1 Mode étendu
Extend Mode allows for data and power PoE transmission over distances up to 250 meters, which is ideal for surveillance systems where devices may be located far from the switch. When Extend Mode is active, the port speed will be downgraded to 10 Mbps.

Figure 4: Comparison of standard 100m transmission and 250m Extend Mode transmission for IP cameras.
4.2 Mode prioritaire
The switch incorporates a priority function to protect the system when the total PoE power consumption exceeds the budget. If the power consumption of all PoE PDs is greater than or equal to 53W, a priority will be assigned among the PoE ports (Port 1 > Port 2 > Port 3 > Port 4). The system will then cut off power to the lowest-priority port to protect the system. This mode ensures high-quality transmission for critical applications like video or voice data.
4.3 Récupération automatique PoE
PoE Auto Recovery automatically detects and reboots unresponsive PoE-powered devices. This feature eliminates the need for manual monitoring or resetting, enhancing system reliability.

6. Entretien
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your TP-Link TL-SF1008P switch, consider the following maintenance guidelines:
- Conditions environnementales : Operate the switch within the specified temperature range (0°C to 40°C) and humidity levels. Avoid exposing the device to direct sunlight, excessive heat, or moisture.
- Gestion des câbles: Keep network cables organized and properly secured to prevent accidental disconnections or damage.
- Alimentation: Use only the provided power adapter. Ensure the power connection is secure and stable.
7. Dépannage
If you encounter issues with your TL-SF1008P switch, consider the following basic troubleshooting steps:
- Pas d'alimentation : Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the switch and a working power outlet. Check the power LED indicator on the switch.
- Aucun lien/activité : Verify that the Ethernet cables are correctly connected to both the switch and the connected device. Check the Link/Act LEDs for the respective ports. Try using a different Ethernet cable.
- Le périphérique PoE ne s'allume pas : Confirm that the connected device is IEEE 802.3at/af compliant. Check the PoE Max LED on the switch; if it's red, the system power might be overloaded, and Priority Mode may be active. Ensure the total power consumption of all PoE devices does not exceed the 66W budget.
- Slow Connection in Extend Mode: This is expected behavior. When Extend Mode is active, the port speed is intentionally reduced to 10 Mbps to achieve longer transmission distances.
