4. Configuration et installation
4.1 Connexion de l'alimentation
Connect the supplied AC adapter to the scanner's DC 12V jack and plug it into a standard wall outlet. For mobile use, connect the DC power cord or cigarette lighter adapter plug to your vehicle's power source.

Screw the telescopic antenna into the antenna jack on the scanner. For improved reception, especially in a vehicle, use the window mount antenna or an external antenna (sold separately).

5.3 Priority Channel

6. Trunk Tracking Operation
The TrunkTracker III system allows the BCT8 to follow conversations on trunked radio systems. This means you can monitor a complete conversation even if it moves across different frequencies within the system. The scanner automatically manages the frequency changes. The multi-track ability allows monitoring of multiple trunking systems simultaneously.
7. BearTracker Warning System
The BearTracker Warning System is designed to alert you to activity on Highway Patrol link frequencies. When the system detects activity within approximately a three-mile radius, the scanner will provide an audible and/or visual alert. This feature is particularly useful for situational awareness.
8. Programming Frequencies
Frequencies can be programmed into the BCT8 manually using the keypad or via a computer using the provided Remote Programming Software Demo CD-ROM.
