Installation

  1. Déballer les composants : Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. The food mill consists of the main bowl, a rotating arm with a handle, and interchangeable perforated discs.
  2. Sélectionnez un disque : Choose the appropriate perforated disc (2.0 mm or 3.0 mm) based on the desired consistency of your food. The 2.0 mm disc is suitable for fibrous foods like asparagus or leeks, and for processing with peels. The 3.0 mm disc is ideal for applesauce, jam, baby food, and fine mashed potatoes.
  3. Insérer le disque : Place the selected disc into the bottom of the food mill bowl. Ensure it sits flat and securely.
  4. Attach Scraper Bar: On the underside of the disc, attach the small scraper bar. This bar helps to prevent clogging and ensures efficient processing.
  5. Assemble Rotating Arm: Insert the rotating arm into the center hole of the disc and secure it. The arm should rotate freely.
  6. Position Food Mill: Place the assembled food mill over a suitable pot or bowl. The food mill features a 3-point pot support for secure placement.

Mode d'emploi

  1. Préparer la nourriture: Cook or soften the fruits or vegetables you intend to process. For best results, ensure they are tender.
  2. Charger de la nourriture : Place the prepared food into the food mill bowl. Do not overfill; process in batches if necessary.
  3. Begin Milling: Turn the handle of the rotating arm clockwise. The food will be pressed through the perforated disc, separating the pulp from skins, seeds, and fibers.
  4. Scraping Function: The patented scraping function on the underside of the disc helps to keep the holes clear and ensures continuous processing.
  5. Rotation inversée (facultatif) : If the disc becomes slightly clogged, you can briefly rotate the handle counter-clockwise to clear it before resuming clockwise rotation.
  6. Collect Puree: The processed puree will collect in the pot or bowl placed underneath the food mill.

Entretien

  • Démontage: After use, disassemble the food mill by removing the rotating arm, the perforated disc, and the scraper bar.
  • Nettoyage: All parts of the GEFU Stainless Steel Food Mill are dishwasher safe. For manual cleaning, wash all components with warm, soapy water and a soft brush to remove any food residue. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Séchage: Dry all parts completely before reassembling or storing to prevent water spots and maintain the stainless steel finish.
  • Stockage: Store the food mill in a dry place.

Dépannage

  • Food Not Processing Smoothly:
    • Ensure the food is adequately cooked and soft. Harder foods may require more effort or further cooking.
    • Check if the correct perforated disc is being used for the type of food and desired consistency.
    • Verify that the scraper bar is correctly attached and functioning to prevent clogging.
    • Do not overfill the food mill; process in smaller batches.
  • Food Mill Feels Stiff to Operate:
    • This can occur with very thick or fibrous foods. Ensure the food is soft enough.
    • Briefly rotate the handle counter-clockwise to clear any buildup on the disc, then resume clockwise rotation.
    • Ensure all parts are clean and free of dried food residue that might impede movement.
  • Food Mill Not Stable on Pot/Bowl:
    • Ensure the food mill's 3-point support rests securely on the rim of your pot or bowl.
    • Use a pot or bowl with a stable, flat rim that fits the food mill's supports.
