- Please remove any existing original car Bluetooth connections from your phone's paired devices list to prevent connection conflicts.
- Keep your phone's WiFi enabled, but do not manually connect it to the adapter's WiFi network unless performing an OTA update. The adapter will auto-connect after Bluetooth pairing.
- Pair Bluetooth ONLY between your phone and the adapter. Do NOT attempt to connect the adapter directly to your car's Bluetooth system.

- Ensure your vehicle is equipped with factory-wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto.
- For Wireless CarPlay: Requires an iPhone 6 or a newer model running iOS 10 or higher.
- For Wireless Android Auto: Requires an Android phone running Android 11 or higher that supports the latest Android Auto features. Some Samsung and Google phones with Android 10 or Android 9 may also be compatible. Note: Huawei devices may not be compatible.
- The adapter is compatible with approximately 98% of on-board mobile phones.

How to Check Your Vehicle's Wired CarPlay/Android Auto Support
Before proceeding with the adapter setup, confirm your car supports wired CarPlay or Android Auto:
- Method 1 (Direct Connection): Connect your iPhone or Android smartphone to your vehicle using a USB data cable. If supported, the CarPlay or Android Auto logo will appear on your car's display screen.
- Method 2 (Online Check): Refer to the official compatibility lists by scanning the QR codes below or visiting the respective websites. Alternatively, contact your car manufacturer directly for confirmation.

Initial Adapter Connection
- Start your car and allow the vehicle's infotainment system to fully load.
- Insert the Pionray adapter into your vehicle's USB-A or USB-C port.
- Once the adapter successfully connects to the vehicle, the car's screen will display the adapter's Bluetooth name, typically as "smartBox-xxxx".

Connecting to Wireless Apple CarPlay
- On your iPhone, open the Paramètres app and ensure both Bluetooth et Réseau sans fil (Wi-Fi) sont activés.
- Navigate to your iPhone's Bluetooth settings and select the adapter with the name "smartBox-xxxx" from the list of available devices.
- A "Bluetooth Pairing Request" notification will appear on your iPhone screen. Tap "Pair" to proceed.
- Wait for approximately 20-30 seconds. A dialog box will appear on your phone screen asking "Use CarPlay with 'smartBox-xxxx'". Tap "Use CarPlay" to establish the connection between your phone and the adapter.
- After Bluetooth pairing is complete and the CarPlay connection is established, your car's screen will automatically switch to CarPlay mode.

Connecting to Wireless Android Auto
- On your Android phone, open the Paramètres app and ensure both Bluetooth et Réseau sans fil (Wi-Fi) sont activés.
- Navigate to your Android phone's Bluetooth settings and select the adapter with the name "smartBox-xxxx" from the "OTHER DEVICES" list.
- A "Bluetooth Pairing Request" notification will appear on your phone screen. Tap "Pair" to proceed.
- After Bluetooth pairing is complete and the Android Auto connection is established, your car's screen will automatically switch to Android Auto mode.

To switch the connection to a different mobile phone:
- First, turn off Bluetooth on the currently connected phone, then turn off its Wi-Fi.
- Unplug the adapter from the car's USB port and then plug it back in. (This step is important for resetting the adapter's connection state).
- Turn on Bluetooth on the new mobile phone you wish to connect. Rechercher and pair with the "smartBox-xxxx" Bluetooth device.
- If your mobile phone system indicates that Bluetooth is occupied, please attempt the pairing process several times to complete the device handover.

- Connect your Android phone to the adapter's WiFi network. The WiFi password is "88888888".

- Return to your phone's WiFi settings, find the "Wi-Fi Direct" option, and then connect to the available device named "smartBox-xxxx".

- Bluetooth Disconnections or Music Not Playing: Verify that your phone's WiFi is enabled but not manually connected to the adapter's WiFi (unless performing an OTA update). Ensure no other Bluetooth devices are actively interfering with the connection. Try re-pairing the device if necessary.
- Adapter Reboots Frequently: This could indicate an unstable power supply. Try plugging the adapter into a different USB port in your car, if available. Ensure the USB port provides sufficient power. Consider performing an OTA update to ensure the latest firmware is installed.
- No Connection / Incompatibility: Double-check that your car supports wired CarPlay or Android Auto from the factory. Also, confirm your phone meets the minimum operating system requirements (iOS 10+ for CarPlay, Android 11+ for Android Auto). Refer to the Compatibility Notes section.

- WiFi for Connectivity, Not Just Updates: Remember that while the adapter uses WiFi for data transmission for CarPlay/Android Auto, your phone's WiFi should be enabled but not manually connected to the adapter's network during normal operation. Manual WiFi connection to the adapter is primarily for OTA updates.
- Troubleshooting Bluetooth Audio: If music isn't playing or Bluetooth audio is dropping, re-verify that your phone's WiFi is on but not manually connected to the adapter's WiFi (unless updating). Check for other active Bluetooth devices that might cause interference and try re-pairing the adapter.
