4. Installation
4.1 Connexion à votre véhicule
- Repérez le port OBD-II de votre véhicule. Ce port se trouve généralement sous le tableau de bord, côté conducteur, mais son emplacement exact peut varier selon le modèle du véhicule.
- Ensure your vehicle's ignition is OFF.
- Plug the V520's universal OBD connector firmly into the vehicle's OBD-II port.
- Turn your vehicle's ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine unless instructed by a specific diagnostic procedure). The V520 will power on automatically.
5. Mode d'emploi
Once connected, the V520 will display the main menu. Use the arrow buttons to navigate and the OK button to select options.
5.1 Engine Fault Diagnosis (DTC)
- From the main menu, select 'OBD/EOBD' or press the 'DTC' shortcut button.
- Choose 'Read DTC' to view Codes d'erreur de diagnostic actuels, en attente et permanents.
- The screen will display the trouble codes and their descriptions. The V520 has a library of 35,901 fault codes for quick reference.
- To clear codes, select 'Clear DTC'. Confirm your choice when prompted. Clearing codes will turn off the Check Engine Light (MIL) but will not fix the underlying problem.
5.2 Real-time Data Stream
Cette fonction vous permet de view live sensor data from your vehicle, which can be crucial for diagnosing intermittent problems.
- Dans le menu principal, sélectionnez « Flux de données ».
- The device will display various parameters such as engine RPM, vehicle speed, coolant temperature, fuel system status, O2 sensor readings, and more.
- Use the arrow buttons to scroll through the available data.
5.3 État de préparation I/M
This function checks the status of the vehicle's emission-related monitoring systems to determine if they are ready for an inspection/maintenance test.
- From the main menu, select 'I/M Readiness' or press the 'I/M' shortcut button.
- The screen will display the status of various monitors (e.g., MIL, MIS, FUE, CCM, CAT, HCAT, EVAP, AIR, HRT, EGR). A green checkmark indicates the monitor is complete, while a red 'X' indicates it is incomplete.
5.4 Données d'arrêt sur image
When an emission-related fault occurs, the ECU stores certain vehicle parameters at the time of the fault. This 'freeze frame' data helps in diagnosing the cause of the fault.
- From the main menu, select 'Freeze Frame'.
- The device will display a snapshot of critical sensor values recorded when the DTC was set.
5.5 Vol batterietage Test
Quickly check the current voltage of your vehicle's battery.
- From the main menu, select 'Voltage' or press the 'BAT' shortcut button.
- The device will display the current battery voltage.
5.6 Fonction d'impression dans le nuage
The V520 supports cloud printing, allowing you to generate and share diagnostic reports.
- From the main menu, select 'Cloud Print'.
- Un code QR s'affichera à l'écran.
- Scan the QR code with your mobile phone to view the diagnostic report in your mobile browser.
- You can then save the report as a screenshot, print it, or send it to a professional mechanic.

The device requires 9-16V to operate.
- Inspect the OBD-II port for any damage or debris.
7.2 Erreur de communication
- Confirm the vehicle is OBD-II compliant (most vehicles manufactured after 1996 in the US, 2001 in the EU for gasoline, 2004 for diesel).
- Assurez-vous que le contact est mis.
- Try connecting to a different OBD-II compliant vehicle to rule out a vehicle-specific issue.
- Check for any blown fuses related to the OBD-II port in your vehicle.
7.3 Incorrect Readings or Incomplete Data
- Ensure the vehicle's engine is running for live data streams, or ignition is ON for other functions.
- Verify that the correct vehicle protocol is being used (the device usually auto-detects).
- If possible, try the device on another vehicle to see if the issue persists.
8. Conseils d'utilisation
- Always consult your vehicle's service manual for specific diagnostic procedures or component locations.
- Clearing fault codes should only be done after addressing the underlying issue. Clearing codes without repair may lead to recurring problems or further damage.
- For intermittent issues, using the 'Freeze Frame' data can provide valuable clues about the conditions under which the fault occurred.
- The 'I/M Readiness' function is useful for checking if your vehicle is ready for emissions testing. If monitors are incomplete, driving the vehicle under various conditions may help them complete.
