You must use cookware with a magnetic base, such as cast iron or magnetic stainless steel. Avoid glass, ceramic, copper, or pure aluminum pots. You can test suitability by sticking a magnet to the bottom of the pan.
Check if the battery for the ignition system needs replacement (usually located under the hob) and ensure the gas supply valve is open. Also, verify that the burner cap and flame distributor are correctly seated and dry.
For aluminum grease filters, remove them carefully and wash with a warm detergent solution or in a dishwasher. Carbon/charcoal filters (for recycling mode) cannot be washed and should be replaced every few months depending on usage.
