3.2 Remontage de la montre

As an automatic watch, the KM-425 is primarily powered by the motion of your wrist. However, if the watch has stopped or for initial setup, it can be manually wound. To do so, ensure the crown (located on the side of the watch case) is in its fully pushed-in position (Position 0). Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times until the power reserve indicator shows a sufficient charge. Avoid over-winding.

3.3 Réglage de l'heure

  1. Tirez délicatement la couronne vers l'extérieur jusqu'à la position 2 (la position la plus extérieure).
  2. Rotate the crown in either direction to move the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
  3. Once the time is set, push the crown back into Position 0 (fully pushed-in) to engage the movement.

3.4 Réglage de la date

  1. Gently pull the crown out to Position 1 (the middle position).
  2. Rotate the crown (typically counter-clockwise, but may vary) to adjust the date display at the ten o'clock position.
  3. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism and potentially damage the movement. If the current time falls within this window, first set the time outside this period, then adjust the date, and finally reset the correct time.
  4. Une fois la date réglée, repoussez la couronne en position 0.

4. Utilisation de la montre

4.1 Automatic Movement (TY 2505)

The Kienzle KM-425 is equipped with a TY 2505 automatic mechanical movement. This movement is self-winding, meaning it gains power from the natural motion of your wrist while wearing the watch. When fully wound, the watch has a power reserve that allows it to run for a certain period (typically 36-40 hours) even when not being worn. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it will stop and require manual winding or wearing to restart.

4.2 Power Reserve Indicator

The sub-dial at the two o'clock position indicates the remaining power reserve of the watch. This gauge shows how much energy is stored in the mainspring, allowing you to monitor when the watch might need winding or more active wear.

Affichage du calendrier 4.3 pouces

The calendar window at the ten o'clock position displays the current date. This feature automatically advances once every 24 hours. For manual adjustment, refer to Section 3.4.

4.4 Flying Wheel

The 'flying wheel' at the six o'clock position is an open-heart design element that provides a glimpse into the watch's intricate mechanical movement, specifically the balance wheel, which is crucial for timekeeping accuracy.

5. Entretien

5.1 Nettoyage

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals. If the watch comes into contact with saltwater, rinse it gently with fresh water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

5.2 Résistance à l'eau (5 ATM / 50 mètres)

Your Kienzle KM-425 watch is water-resistant up to 5 ATM (50 meters). This rating means the watch is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes, rain, and short periods of recreational swimming. It is pas suitable for diving, snorkeling, or high-pressure water activities such as showering or bathing, especially with hot water, as temperature changes can affect seals. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.

5.3 Entretien des bracelets

The leather strap is susceptible to wear and tear from moisture, sweat, and direct sunlight. To prolong its life, avoid prolonged exposure to water and direct sunlight. Clean with a dry cloth and allow it to air dry if it becomes damp. The strap is interchangeable, allowing for customization or replacement if needed.

5.4 Stockage

Lorsque vous ne portez pas votre montre, rangez-la dans un endroit frais et sec, à l'abri de la lumière directe du soleil, des températures extrêmes et des champs magnétiques puissants. L'écrin d'origine est idéal pour la ranger.

6. Dépannage

  • Montre non fonctionnelle : If the watch has stopped, it may need to be manually wound (refer to Section 3.2) or worn for a sufficient period to build up power reserve. Automatic watches require consistent wrist movement to stay wound.
  • Heure inexacte : Ensure the watch is fully wound. Exposure to strong magnetic fields can affect accuracy. If persistent, professional service may be required.
  • Date non modifiable : Check if the time is set correctly, especially past midnight. If the date is stuck, try manually advancing it (refer to Section 3.4).
  • Condensation sous cristal : This indicates a breach in the watch's water resistance. Immediately seek professional service to prevent further damage to the movement.
