2. Consignes de sécurité

Always read and understand all safety instructions before installing, operating, or maintaining the linear actuator. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, serious injury, or death.

  • Sécurité électrique : Ensure power is disconnected before making any electrical connections or performing maintenance. This actuator operates on 12V DC. Verify correct polarity.
  • Sécurité mécanique : Keep hands, clothing, and tools clear of moving parts during operation. The actuator can exert significant force (1700N push/pull).
  • Installation: Securely mount the actuator using appropriate hardware. Ensure mounting surfaces are strong enough to withstand the actuator's maximum load.
  • Environnement: This actuator is designed for marine environments but should be protected from excessive moisture and corrosive substances where possible.
  • Personnel qualifié: Installation and maintenance should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with electrical and mechanical systems.

4. Configuration et installation

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your Linak linear actuator.

4.1 Montage

  1. Identifier les points de fixation : The actuator features two 1/2" diameter mounting holes. These holes are spaced approximately 16 1/2 inches apart, center-to-center.
  2. Préparez la surface de montage : Ensure the surfaces where the actuator will be mounted are flat, stable, and capable of supporting the actuator's maximum push/pull load (1700N).
  3. Secure Actuator: Use appropriate 1/2" diameter bolts, washers, and nuts (not included) to securely fasten the actuator to your application. Do not overtighten, but ensure a firm connection to prevent movement during operation.

4.2 Connexions électriques

The actuator requires a 12V DC power supply. It is equipped with two 6-pin male connectors.

  • Alimentation: Connect the actuator to a stable 12V DC power source capable of supplying up to 26A.
  • Câblage : Connect the appropriate 6-pin female connectors (not included) to the actuator's male connectors. Ensure correct polarity for desired extension/retraction. Reversing polarity will reverse the direction of motion.
  • Protection du circuit: It is highly recommended to install an appropriate fuse or circuit breaker (e.g., 30A) in line with the power supply to protect the actuator and electrical system from overcurrent.

Cette image fournit une view of the actuator, highlighting the end where the electrical connections are made.

5. Fonctionnement

Once properly installed and connected, the Linak LA36 actuator can be operated.

  • Contrôle de direction : The direction of the actuator's movement (extension or retraction) is controlled by the polarity of the 12V DC input. Reversing the polarity will reverse the direction of the shaft.
  • Capacité de charge: Do not exceed the maximum rated load of 1700N (382 lbs) for both push and pull applications. Overloading can damage the actuator and void any potential warranty.
  • Cycle de service : Adhere to the specified duty cycle of 20%, with a maximum continuous operation of 4 minutes followed by a 16-minute rest period. Exceeding the duty cycle can lead to overheating and premature failure of the motor.
  • Interrupteurs de fin de course : The actuator is equipped with internal limit switches that automatically stop the shaft at its fully extended and fully retracted positions. Do not attempt to force the actuator beyond these limits.

6. Entretien

The Linak LA36 linear actuator is designed for low maintenance. However, periodic checks can help ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.

  • Nettoyage: Keep the actuator body and shaft clean from dirt, debris, and corrosive substances. Use a damp cloth; avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspecter les connexions : Regularly check all electrical connections for corrosion, looseness, or damage. Ensure the 6-pin connectors are securely seated.
  • Inspecter le montage : Verify that the mounting bolts are tight and that the actuator is securely fastened to its application. Check for any signs of wear or damage to the mounting points.
  • État de l'arbre : Periodically inspect the stainless steel shaft for any signs of bending, scoring, or excessive wear.
  • Lubrification: The actuator is factory-lubricated and generally does not require additional lubrication. If the shaft appears dry or sticky, consult Linak's official documentation or a qualified technician.
