1. Introduction
The DANOPLUS DP-355 Quantum PAR Meter is designed for measuring Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) within the photosynthetic waveband. This meter provides accurate and reliable readings of light energy available for photosynthesis, crucial for monitoring plant growth in various environments.
The measurement range of the DP-355 is between 0 and 5000 µmol/m²/sec. It specifically measures light in the 400 nm to 700 nm wavelength range, with a tolerance of ±10 nm at both the cut-on and cut-off wavelengths. This ensures that the meter captures the light spectrum most relevant to plant photosynthesis.
2. Principales caractéristiques
- Reliable Measurement: Measures PAR from 0 to 5000 µmol/m²/sec within the 400-700 nm photosynthetic waveband, ensuring high precision for plant light requirements.
- Fonction d'enregistrement : Stores up to 100 measured values, allowing for tracking and review of PAR changes over time. Features a real-time display of the last four recorded data points for quick reference.
- Utilisation polyvalente : An essential tool for growers, scientists, and researchers to optimize plant growth, improve energy efficiency, and enhance crop management.
- Prise de trépied : Includes a tripod socket for secure and stable attachment to a tripod (not included), providing flexibility and accuracy during measurements.
- Conception portable : Compact, lightweight, and ergonomic, making it easy to carry and use in various locations such as greenhouses, growth chambers, or fields.

4. Installation
- Insert the required Alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). The meter requires batteries to operate.
- Pour éteindre l'appareil, maintenez enfoncée la touche POUVOIR key until the display turns off. The meter also features an auto-power off function to conserve battery life.
4.3 Fixation sur trépied (en option)
For stable and consistent measurements, especially over time or in specific locations, the meter can be mounted on a tripod.
- Locate the tripod socket on the back of the meter (refer to Figure 3.1).
- Screw the meter onto a standard tripod (tripod not included).
- Adjust the tripod to the desired height and angle for measurement.

5.2 Using the Record Function
The meter can store up to 100 measurements and display the last four readings.
The current reading will be stored.
- À view stored data, navigate through the menu using the MODE boutons et touches fléchées.
- The display will show the last four recorded data points in real-time, allowing for quick monitoring of recent changes.
5.3 Fonction de maintien des données
Pour figer la lecture actuelle affichée :
- Appuyez sur le PRISE button. The displayed value will be held.
- Appuyez sur le PRISE button again to release and resume live measurements.
5.4 Advanced Measurement with External Devices
The DP-355 can be used in conjunction with external applications for more detailed analysis, such as calculating Daily Light Integral (DLI) or mapping PAR distribution.

Video 5.2: This video demonstrates how a PAR meter can be used with a mobile application to calculate Daily Light Integral (DLI) and methodically record PPFD values across a grid, providing a comprehensive light map for plant growth optimization.
6. Entretien
6.1 Nettoyage
- Keep the sensor diffuser clean and free from dust or debris. Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the sensor.
- Clean the meter's body with a slightly damp chiffon.
- Store the meter in its carrying pouch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Lectures inexactes : Ensure the sensor diffuser is clean and unobstructed. Verify the meter is positioned correctly relative to the light source.
Check if the memory is full (though it stores up to 100 values).
