2. Connexion à un Amplifier

Use the provided instrument cable to connect your guitar to an amplifier. Insert one end of the cable into the guitar's output jack (typically located on the lower bout of the body) and the other end into the input jack of your ampamplificateur. Assurez-vous que votre ampL'amplificateur est éteint avant de brancher ou de débrancher le câble.

3. Accorder la guitare

Before playing, tune your guitar. Standard tuning from thickest to thinnest string is E-A-D-G-B-e. You can use a digital tuner, a tuning app, or an online tuner.

  1. Turn on your tuner.
  2. Pluck each string individually.
  3. Adjust the corresponding tuning peg on the headstock until the tuner indicates the correct pitch for each string.
  4. Repeat for all six strings.

Operating Your Guitar

1. Contrôles surview

The DLP-124B features two humbucker pickups, a 3-way pickup selector switch, a master volume knob, and two tone knobs.

  • Bouton de volume : Contrôle le volume sonore global de la guitare. Tournez dans le sens horaire pour augmenter le volume, dans le sens antihoraire pour le diminuer.
  • Boutons de tonalité : Each tone knob typically controls the treble response for a specific pickup or set of pickups. Turn clockwise for brighter tones, counter-clockwise for warmer, darker tones.
  • Sélecteur de micros à 3 positions : This switch allows you to select which pickup(s) are active.
    • Position haute : Active le micro manche (pour des sonorités plus chaudes et plus douces).
    • Poste intermédiaire : Activates both neck and bridge pickups (for a balanced tone).
    • Position basse : Activates the bridge pickup (for brighter, sharper tones, often used for lead or rock).

Entretien

1. Cleaning Your Guitar

Regular cleaning helps preserve your guitar's finish and playability.

  • Wipe down the body, neck, and strings with a soft, lint-free cloth after each use to remove sweat and oils.
  • For the body, use a guitar-specific polish occasionally to maintain its shine.
  • Clean the fretboard with a specialized fretboard cleaner and conditioner to prevent drying and cracking.

2. Remplacement des cordes

Strings should be replaced regularly, depending on how often you play and how quickly they corrode. Worn strings can affect tone and intonation.

  1. Détendez les vieilles cordes à l'aide des chevilles d'accordage.
  2. Remove the old strings from the bridge and tuning pegs.
  3. Thread new strings through the bridge and wind them around the tuning pegs.
  4. Stretch the new strings gently and tune them to pitch.

3. Entretien et stockage généraux

  • Store your guitar in its gig bag when not in use to protect it from dust, humidity changes, and accidental bumps.
  • Avoid exposing the guitar to extreme temperatures or humidity, as this can cause damage to the wood.
  • Periodically check all screws and hardware for tightness.
