4. Installation

Before first use, it is recommended to register your keys with the Kryptonite Key Safe Program. This allows for replacement keys if yours are lost. Refer to Section 8 for more details on this program.

5. Mode d'emploi

5.1 Verrouillage de l'appareil

1. Wrap the chain around your bicycle frame and a secure, immovable object (e.g., a bike rack, lampposte).
2. Insert the end link of the chain into the integrated lock head.
3. Insert one of the provided keys into the lock cylinder and turn it to secure the mechanism. The key will remain in the lock when unlocked and can only be removed once the lock is secured.
4. Ensure the chain is taut to minimize leverage points for potential thieves.

5.2 Déverrouillage de l'appareil

6. Entretien

• Regularly lubricate the lock cylinder with a PTFE-based lubricant (e.g., Finish Line Dry) to ensure smooth operation and prevent corrosion. Avoid oil-based lubricants.
• Keep the nylon sleeve clean to prevent dirt and grit from accumulating and potentially scratching your bike's finish.
• Inspect the chain links and lock head periodically for any signs of wear or damage.

7. Dépannage

7.1 Key is difficult to insert or turn

• Assurez-vous que la clé est complètement insérée et correctement orientée.
• Apply a small amount of PTFE-based lubricant into the keyway.
• Check for any debris in the keyway and carefully remove it.

7.2 Lock mechanism is stiff

• Lubricate the internal locking mechanism with a PTFE-based lubricant.
• Ensure the chain end link is fully seated in the lock head before attempting to turn the key.
