Mode d'emploi

Précautions de sécurité :

  • Always ensure power to the water heater is turned off before draining to prevent damage to heating elements.
  • Turn off the main water supply to the house before beginning any draining procedure.
  • Never run the pump dry. Ensure water is flowing through the pump before activating it.
  • Ne pas pomper de liquides inflammables.

Draining a Water Heater:

  1. Turn off Power and Water Supply: Locate and turn off the circuit breaker for the water heater. Also, turn off the main water supply to your house.
  2. Open Relief Valve: Open the temperature and pressure relief valve on the water heater to allow air into the tank, facilitating drainage.
  3. Connecter les tuyaux :
    • Connect one end of a suitable hose (e.g., a washing machine hose, as the included hose may not be compatible with all setups) to the drain valve at the bottom of the water heater.
    • Connect the other end of this hose to the inlet port of the Utilitech pump. The pump has an arrow indicating the direction of water flow; ensure the hose from the water heater connects to the inlet side (opposite the arrow).
    • Connect a discharge hose to the outlet port of the pump (in the direction of the arrow). Direct the discharge hose to a suitable drainage area, such as a floor drain or outdoors.
  4. Amorcer la pompe : Before turning on the pump, slightly open the water heater drain valve to allow water to flow into the pump, ensuring it is primed and does not run dry.
  5. Activer la pompe : Once water is flowing through the pump, plug in the pump to an appropriate 115V power outlet. The pump will begin to transfer water.
  6. Surveillance du drainage : Allow the pump to operate until the water heater is fully drained. The pump significantly speeds up the draining process compared to gravity drainage.
  7. Disconnect and Restore: After draining, turn off the pump, disconnect the hoses, close the water heater drain valve, close the relief valve, restore the main water supply, and finally, restore power to the water heater.

  • Nettoyage: After each use, flush the pump with clean water to remove any debris or sediment.
  • Stockage: Rangez la pompe dans un endroit sec et frais, à l'abri du gel.
  • Inspection de la turbine : Periodically inspect the impeller for wear or damage. Replace if necessary using the provided extra impeller and gasket. Refer to the pump's internal diagram for replacement instructions.

  • La pompe ne démarre pas :
    • Ensure the pump is securely plugged into a live 115V outlet.

    • Verify that the pump is not running dry. The pump is thermally protected and may shut off if overheated from running without liquid. Allow it to cool down.
  • Débit faible/débit nul :
    • Check for kinks or blockages in the suction or discharge hoses.
    • Ensure the pump is properly primed with water before operation.
    • Vérifiez que la turbine n'est pas obstruée ou endommagée.
    • Verify that the water source is sufficient and the main water supply is open if applicable.
  • Fuite :
    • Serrez tous les raccords de tuyaux.
    • Inspect gaskets and O-rings for wear or improper seating. Replace if damaged.
