1. Introduction

3. Installation

3.1 Remontage de la montre

Before setting the time, ensure the watch has sufficient power reserve. If the watch has stopped, gently wind the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times in position 1 (fully pushed in and screwed down) to initiate movement. The automatic movement will then continue to wind with wrist motion during wear.

3.2 Réglage de l'heure

2. Pull the crown out to position 3. This will stop the second hand.
3. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the date changes at midnight, not noon, by advancing the hands past 12 o'clock to determine AM/PM.
4. Once the time is set, push the crown back to position 1 and screw it down clockwise firmly against the case to ensure water resistance.

3.3 Réglage de la date

3. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the date change mechanism.
4. Once the date is set, push the crown back to position 1 and screw it down clockwise firmly against the case to ensure water resistance.

4. Utilisation de la montre

4.1 Using the Uni-directional Rotating Bezel

The watch features a uni-directional rotating bezel, designed for timing events, particularly dive times. To use:

1. Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise to align the zero marker (triangle) with the minute hand at the start of the event you wish to time.
2. The elapsed time can then be read against the bezel markings as the minute hand progresses.
3. The uni-directional design ensures that if the bezel is accidentally moved, it will only indicate a longer elapsed time, preventing a false reading for critical timing.

4.2 Résistance à l'eau

Your Oris Aquis watch is water-resistant up to 300 meters (1000 feet). This makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not for saturation diving. To maintain water resistance:

• Assurez-vous toujours que la couronne est complètement vissée avant d'exposer la montre à l'eau.
• Ne pas actionner la couronne ou les poussoirs lorsque la montre est mouillée ou immergée.
• Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes, which can affect the seals.

5. Entretien

5.1 Nettoyage

Nettoyez régulièrement votre montre avec un chiffon doux et sec.amp cloth. For the stainless steel bracelet and case, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by rinsing with fresh water and thorough drying. Ensure the crown is screwed down before cleaning with water. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials.

5.2 Stockage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. If storing for an extended period, consider a watch winder to keep the automatic movement running and lubricated.

5.3 Entretien

For optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to have your Oris watch serviced by an authorized service center every 3-5 years. This includes checking the movement, seals, and water resistance to ensure continued reliability.

6. Dépannage

• La montre s'arrête de fonctionner : If the watch stops, it may need manual winding. Wind the crown approximately 20-30 times in position 1. If the issue persists after regular wear, the watch may require servicing.
• Date non modifiable : Ensure the time is set correctly for AM/PM. If the date still does not change or changes at noon, re-adjust the time and date. If the issue persists, avoid manually forcing it and consult an authorized service center.
• Condensation sous cristal : If condensation appears under the crystal, it indicates a potential breach in water resistance. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center to prevent further damage to the movement.
