2. Installation

Charge initiale

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the TACHO2SAFE device. Connect the provided USB cable to the device's USB port and then to a standard USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter). The device's OLED display will indicate charging status. A full charge ensures optimal performance and maximum download capacity.

Downloading Driver Card Data

Follow these steps to download data from a driver's digital tachograph card:

1. Locate the driver card slot on the TACHO2SAFE device.
2. Gently insert the driver card into the slot, ensuring it is correctly oriented.
3. The device's OLED display will prompt you to initiate the download. Use the function buttons (F1-F4) to confirm.
4. The download progress will be shown on the screen. Do not remove the card until the download is complete.
5. Once finished, the data is stored internally on the device.

Downloading Digital Tachograph Unit Data

To download data directly from a vehicle's digital tachograph unit:

1. Connect one end of the provided download cable to the TACHO2SAFE device and the other end to the digital tachograph unit's download port.
2. Power on the TACHO2SAFE device.
3. Navigate the device's menu using the function buttons to select the "Vehicle Download" or similar option.
4. Confirm the download. The device will display the download status.
5. Once the download is complete, safely disconnect the cables.

Using TachoSafeLite Software (PC Only)

The TACHO2SAFE includes the TachoSafeLite software for comprehensive data analysis on your PC. This software is not compatible with Mac computers.

1. Install the TachoSafeLite software on your Windows PC.
2. Connect the TACHO2SAFE device to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Launch the TachoSafeLite application. The software should automatically detect the connected device.
4. Transfer the downloaded data from the device to the software for detailed analysis.
5. Utilize the software's reporting features, which include Infringements, Working Time, Graphic Activities, and Activity Details, all in accordance with EC regulations.
6. For data security, you can protect your information within the software using a personalized username and password.

Integration with Third-Party Analysis Software

If you already use existing digital tachograph analysis software, the TACHO2SAFE can serve as a dedicated download tool. Simply connect the device to your computer via USB, and your current analysis software should be able to access and process the downloaded data, as it supports standard DLL files.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your TACHO2SAFE device, adhere to the following care guidelines:

• Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Ensure that the TachoSafeLite software is installed correctly and is up to date. Remember, the software is designed for PC only and is not compatible with Mac operating systems.

• Display Issues (Dim or Unresponsive Screen):

  A dim or unresponsive OLED display may indicate a low battery. Recharge the device. If the issue persists after charging, contact customer support.
