Model: BW5020-010A

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your Flojet BW5020-010A Dual HIGH FLOW Bottled Water Pump. This system is designed to dispense water from two standard 3 or 5-gallon water bottles to a refrigerator, ice maker, coffee machine, or other water-using appliance. The BW5020-010A model offers a higher flow rate compared to previous versions, ensuring faster water delivery.

Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting to install or operate the pump system. Keep this manual for future reference.

2. Consignes de sécurité

4. Configuration et installation

4.1 Placement

  • Place the pump module on a stable, dry surface near the water bottles and the appliance it will supply.
  • Assurez une ventilation adéquate autour de la pompe.
  • Keep the pump module above the water bottles to prevent siphoning.

4.2 Connecting the Wand Assembly

  1. Remove the cap from a 3 or 5-gallon water bottle.
  2. Insert one of the wand assemblies into the bottle opening. Ensure the cap on the wand assembly creates a tight seal with the bottle.
  3. Repeat for the second water bottle and wand assembly.

4.3 Tuyauterie de raccordement

  1. Connect the two small tubes from the wand assemblies to the inlet ports on the pump module. These are typically labeled 'IN'.
  2. Connect one end of the 1/4-inch dispense tubing to the outlet port on the pump module, typically labeled 'OUT'.
  3. Route the other end of the dispense tubing to your appliance (e.g., refrigerator, coffee maker). Ensure the tubing is not kinked or pinched.
  4. Secure all tubing connections to prevent leaks.

4.4 Connexion d'alimentation

  1. Connect the 110-volt transformer to the pump module's power input.
  2. Plug the transformer into a standard 120-volt AC electrical outlet.

5. Mode d'emploi

5.1 Amorçage initial

After installation, the pump needs to be primed to remove air from the system:

  1. Ensure both water bottles are full and the wands are properly seated.
  2. Plug in the power supply. The pump may run briefly to pressurize the system.
  3. Activate your appliance's water dispenser. The pump will begin to draw water from the bottle and deliver it to the appliance. It may take a few moments for water to flow consistently as air is purged from the lines.

5.2 Fonctionnement automatique

The Flojet BW5020-010A pump system operates automatically. When your appliance demands water, the pressure switch in the pump will activate, drawing water from the bottle. When the demand stops, the pump will shut off. The dual wand system allows for seamless switching between two bottles, ensuring a continuous water supply.

5.3 Replacing Water Bottles

When a water bottle is empty, the pump will continue to run but will not dispense water. To replace an empty bottle:

  1. Unplug the pump's power supply.
  2. Carefully remove the wand assembly from the empty bottle.
  3. Place the wand assembly into a new, full water bottle, ensuring a tight seal.
  4. Plug the pump's power supply back in. The pump will re-prime itself.

6. Entretien

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your pump system.

  • Nettoyage: Periodically wipe down the exterior of the pump module and tubing with a damp tissu. Ne plongez pas la pompe dans l’eau.
  • Inspection des tubes : Regularly check all tubing for kinks, cracks, or signs of wear. Replace damaged tubing immediately.
  • Vérification de la connexion : Ensure all connections (tubing and electrical) remain secure and free of leaks.
  • Assemblage de la baguette : Inspect the wand assembly for any blockages or damage. Clean if necessary.
