Video 5.1: Progress Lighting Ceiling Fan Installation Guide. This video provides a general overview du processus d'installation.
5.1 Préparation de l'emplacement de montage
Ensure the intended mounting location is a secure ceiling fan-rated metal electrical box, capable of supporting at least 35 lbs (15.9 kg). If an existing fixture is present, ensure the outlet box is suitable for fan support. For mounting locations between support beams, a fan-rated support brace (e.g., Hubbell RACO Kwik-Brace) may be required.
5.2 Assemblage de la tige de suspension
Remove the clevis pin from the downrod by first removing the cotter pin. Set both pins aside for later use. Prepare the canopy cover and coupling cover by sliding them onto the downrod. Align the downrod with the coupling on top of the fan motor housing. Reinsert the clevis pin, ensuring wires are not damaged, and secure it with the cotter pin. Tighten the set screws on the coupling to lock the downrod in place. This step is crucial to prevent fan wobble.

5.3 Installation du support de montage
Install the mounting bracket to the ceiling fan-rated outlet box. Pass the electrical wires through the hole in the ceiling for easy access. Lift the assembled fan and place the mounting ball from the downrod into the ceiling mounting bracket. Rotate the ball until the slot falls into place, ensuring the fan is securely seated.
5.4 Câblage du ventilateur
Wire the fan according to the installation instructions provided with your specific model. Generally, connect black wires to black, white to white, and bare copper/green wires as the ground wires. Some fans may include a receiver that needs to be wired in as per instructions. Use the provided wire nuts to make secure connections. Trim any excess wire from the downrod, leaving a minimum of 6 extra inches for connections.
5.5 Fixation de la verrière et des pales
Push the wires and receiver (if applicable) into place and cover them by attaching the canopy cover. Move the coupling cover into place. Attach the fan blades to the motor housing using a screwdriver. It is recommended to attach all screws loosely at first, then go back and securely tighten them to prevent fan wobble.

5.6 Light Kit Installation (if applicable)
If your fan includes a light kit, it may require installing a mounting plate on the bottom of the motor housing before attaching the light kit. Install the light kit using the provided screws in the motor housing and mounting plate. If your fan has a glass shade, align it in place over the light kit and twist it to secure it.

5.7 Ceiling Height and Fan Size Considerations
The bottom of the fan should be at least 7 feet (84 inches) from the floor. For lower ceilings, a hugger fan or a fan that can be mounted close to the ceiling is recommended. The appropriate fan size depends on the room's square footage:

6. Fonctionnement
6.1 Airflow Direction (Reversible Motor)
Your fan features a reversible motor for year-round comfort. The direction of airflow can be changed to suit seasonal needs:
- Counter-Clockwise / Forward: Used during warmer months to create a downward draft, making the room feel cooler.
- Clockwise / Reverse: Used during cooler months to create an upward draft, pushing warm air to the ceiling and circulating it throughout the room, making it feel warmer.

Contrôle de vitesse 6.2
The fan features a 3-speed control. Adjust the fan speed using the pull chain or remote control (if included) to achieve desired air circulation.

6.3 Appairage de la télécommande (le cas échéant)
If your fan includes a remote control, you may need to go through a remote pairing process shortly after restoring power to the fan. Refer to your remote control's specific instructions for pairing procedures.
7. Entretien
- Serrer les attaches : Check all screws and fasteners periodically to ensure they are tight. Loose connections can cause noise and wobble.
8. Dépannage
If your fan experiences issues, consider the following common solutions:
- Fan Wobbling or Clicking:
- Loosen and retighten the downrod set screws and fan blade screws. Ensure all screws are securely fastened.
- Randomly select two blades from the fan and switch their positions to rebalance the fan.
- Ventilateur non fonctionnel :
- Check that power is restored at the circuit breaker.
- Vérifiez que tous les branchements électriques sont bien fixés.
- If using a remote, ensure it is properly paired and has fresh batteries.
